Do you realize that every flower has its own meaning? Nowadays people don't usually think about it, they just select the most beautiful flower or even the most expensive one – it seems to be sufficient to show how particular the person you are presenting flowers to is for you. But in actual fact there is a special harmony between the appearance of the flower and what it says about the emotions of the giver. In the Victorian epoch flowers were often used as a secret means of message sending. Flowers language was invented by Turks, this is the reason why sending a message with flowers to the one you like in order to show your feelings was called a “Persian Salaam”. This method of communication gained great popularity in the 18th century. At that time bouquets were arranged very carefully and in exact correspondence to flower language. It is evident that all flowers mean care and attention, but nevertheless any flower with its color and each flower arrangement have their own shades. For instance, red roses have stood for love since the earliest times, but as for yellow ones they signify jealousy. So you can see that it is helpful to obtain basic knowledge of flower language to express your emotions in the correct way. You may be astonished to know that there is a specialized branch of science that is devoted to the examination of flower language. It's called floriography and its main objective is to explain the underlying meaning of flowers and flowers compositions to presenters and recipients. From time to time it is difficult to find right words to express your feelings, so it is high time to use flower arrangements. I'd like to explain the meaning of the most widespread flowers: aloe signifies grief, aster stands for daintiness, begonia signifies beware, calendula means joy, carnation – health, energy and affection, daisy stands for innocence, loyal love, lily means purity, orchid – love and beauty and tulip means declaration of love. This is just a brief review of flowers language. And the meaning of each flower is much deeper that we may express in words. It's rather hard to explain their meaning, you have to get inner understanding. If you're interested to learn more about flowers, you may read specialized literature, and you'll soon reach an understanding with these beautiful plants.
